The Beginning

I've been really frustrated with my weight for a long time now. I was a normal weight until I had kids, and gained and lost about 35 pounds with each pregnancy. I did pretty well with my weight until I went to grad school, and I ate to keep myself awake to study. I decided I would lose it all when I graduated, well I graduated 4 years ago, and the weight is still here. It doesn't help that I'm 51 and I have a terrible sweet tooth. I was previously lost a lot of weight several times going to Weight Watchers, and have tried it twice in the past two years, and just couldn't get into the program. A month or so ago, I bought the Belly Fat Cure by Jorge Cruise for my kindle. It looked interesting, and it was on sale. I really thought it was just another quacky diet plan that didn't make sense, but thought I might get a couple helpful tips, or recipes from it. After reading the book it made so much sense, and I realized I was eating way, way too many carbs and sugars, in fact my diet was dominated by them. Even things I thought were really healthy, like greek yogurt, had lots of sugar and carbs. About two months ago I started exercising on a regular basis, thinking that this would help me lose weight, it hasn't. So after ready the Belly Fat Cure, I thought what the hell, and decided to give it a try. So here I am at the beginning.

Week 1 169.2 pounds, ugh.

Actually, the BFC plan is really basic, and easy to follow. 15 grams of sugar and 6 carb servings a day, no artifical sweeteners. The book has many menu plans (with the recipes) for the first week. If you follow one of the weekly plans there isn't even any counting needed -- just eat what is there, and it's good stuff!!!

The first couple of days haven't been bad. I like the food, and haven't had to skimp on the non carb/sugar things I love like CHEESE!!! I haven't been hungry at all during the day, but a little hungry after dinner. I think this is because after dinner has always been my big snacking time period, and I think my body just needs to adjust.

I know you aren't supposed to do this, but I weigh myself every day, and in the first couple of days have lost almost a pound, so I'm hoping for a good week.
